Immigrant rights supporters in New York can help fight
“silent raids” by marching today with bakery workers that immigration
authorities have targeted. The demonstration starts at 1 pm, April 8, 2017, outside Trump
Tower, at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street in midtown Manhattan.

Immigrant food workers will march on Trump Tower Saturday to
protest an immigration crackdown on Long Island City's Tom Cat Bakery, whose
baguettes are served by top restaurants around the city.
Elected officials including Comptroller Scott Stringer will
join unions and immigrant advocacy groups for an expected 1,000-person march in
front of President Donald Trump's Manhattan home, led by 31 workers
anticipating a mass firing. The Trump administration has set an April 21
deadline for them to produce work authorization papers.[…]

Se espera un millar de personas este sábado en la Quinta avenida en
Manhattan

No está previsto que el Presidente esté el sábado en su
hogar en la Quinta avenida en Mahattan, pero quienes sí tratarán de llegarán lo
más cerca que puedan hasta la Torre Trump serán los trabajadores de la
panadería Tom Cat Bakery, quienes realizarán una demostración a la 1:00 p.m.
para demanda al Gobierno que acabe con las acciones del departamento de
Departamento de Seguridad Nacional , que amenazan con dejarles sin trabajo a 31
de ellos “y destrozar sus familias”.
Se espera que se den cita frente a la torre del presidente
unas 1,000 personas, entre ellos líderes de organizaciones como New York
Immigrant Coalition y Make The Road, además de sindicatos como Wholesale and
Department Store Union (RWDSU). Los manifestantes contarán también con la
participación de oficiales electos como el contralor Scott Stringer.[…]
